Apple Says iPhone Jailbreaking is Illegal | Electronic Frontier Foundation
I know this is old, (Feb 2009) but it is a clear explanation why jail-breaking your iPhone is not illegal. It’s not for everybody, but if you want to ‘open up’ your phone and make use of some cool features, then go for it!
